Ram Charan is back at the top.

His latest sports drama 'Peddi' has crossed the ₹400 crore mark worldwide in 14 days of release and is now one of the biggest Telugu blockbusters of 2026. Production house Vriddhi Cinemas has announced to the world on social media, “A box office celebration. #Peddi crosses 400 CRORES GROSS WORLDWIDE.”

'Peddi' has become a movie which not only has been a commercial success but is a very important film for Ram Charan's career. Buchi Babu Sana was the director of this film and on 4th June it was released.

A Strong Comeback After ‘Game Changer’

Peddi’s success is very important for Ram Charan. It is not only the disappointment of 'Game Changer' but also industry observers were waiting to see how well the actor's next project will work.

'Peddi' has answered those questions almost immediately.

The film surpassed the entire domestic lifetime collection of *Game Changer* within five days of release, a strong return to form for the actor. And more importantly, it has reestablished Ram Charan’s box office strength as a solo leading star.

For years, 'Rangasthalam' was the benchmark for Ram Charan’s solo movies. But now *Peddi* has broken that record and is his highest-grossing solo movie worldwide.

Joining the Elite ₹200 Crore Club

Another big achievement for the film is its entry into the prestigious ₹200 crore Telugu net collection club.

Only 'RRR' had achieved that in Ram Charan's career till now. Now with 'Peddi' he has a second film in that elite category, and is one of the most successful Telugu releases in recent years.

Trade analysts attribute the film’s success to its emotional storytelling, rural setting, sports-based tale with a good story and word-of-mouth among family audiences.

Strong Performance Across India and Overseas

The Telugu version is still the biggest revenue driver of the film, but dubbed versions have also been important.Industry estimates suggest that nearly 75-80% of the collections have come from Telugu-speaking regions. The Hindi version has performed steadily, while Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam releases have added to the overall total.

International markets have also helped. North America, Australia, and Gulf countries have been really supporting the film to help it easily cross ₹400 crore worldwide.

A Story That Connected With Audiences

At the heart of 'Peddi' is an inspiring story of determination and resilience. The film follows a young villager who rises to become a para-athlete and uses sports as a tool to bring recognition and development to his community. The emotional journey coupled with mass appeal and motivational themes has resonated strongly with viewers across age groups.

The movie has an impressive ensemble cast including Ram Charan, Shivarajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyenndu.Additionally, the technical team is adding to the project, with music composed by A.R. Rahman, cinematography by R. Rathnavelu, and editing by Naveen Nooli.

Overcoming Early Controversy

The movie’s path was not entirely smooth.

Some of Janhvi Kapoor’s scenes were viewed and criticized on social media soon after release. For viewers, the portrayal was offensive and discussions on social media were widespread.

After this incident, Buchi Babu Sana issued a public apology and announced the controversial scenes were removed from the subsequent screenings.

Such swift action helped to filter the backlash and keep the positive reception and strong content as the main focus.

One of Tollywood's Biggest Success Stories of 2026

The Telugu hit of this year 'Peddi' has already established itself as the best Telugu hit with over ₹400 crore gross collections and more than ₹200 crore net collections.

Despite the fact that it is behind historic giants like 'RRR', 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion', and 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', there are still some big accomplishments from it as a standalone sports drama.

And the film will continue to play, and trade experts predict that its final numbers could be even higher.

Ram Charan’s 'Peddi' isn’t just a movie for him. It’s a statement-a movie that has revived momentum, broken personal records, and showed that he is still one of Telugu cinema’s biggest stars.
