The countdown is on for Peddi, the much-awaited Telugu sports action drama with Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. The film's cast and crew had a big promotional event in Vijayawada on 1 June in Andhra Pradesh, which turned out to be the largest promotional event by the cast and crew. But an unexpected incident during the event is now very much a talk of the town on social media.
As Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor and director Buchi Babu Sana were sitting on stage interacting with fans, a supporter apparently breached the security barricade and suddenly rushed toward the actor.
A fan who appeared to have styled his hair in a similar way to Ram Charan's walked on stage at first sight, catching everyone by surprise. Janhvi Kapoor, who sat next to Ram Charan, was shocked by the sudden movement. Online videos depict the actress appearing shocked for a moment when the fan entered the stage.
Security personnel immediately intervened to prevent any further disruption. Ram Charan’s personal bodyguard, Kevin Kunt, an international MMA fighter, intervened and quickly prevented the fan from getting too close to the actor. The quick response helped bring the situation under control and prevented a potential security threat.

The situation calmed down soon after. In another video that has been published online, the fan was later allowed to meet Ram Charan. The admirer had touched the actor’s feet in a gesture of respect and gratitude.
Kevin Kunt’s social media response to the situation showed his alertness and professionalism in handling the situation, which was a huge compliment. The bodyguard was very quick to do the right thing, and the situation didn’t escalate.
Ram Charan had recently joked about his bodyguard's growing popularity on social media during a media conversation. When Kevin Kunt's fan base had grown, the actor humorously remarked that people had made his bodyguard a celebrity.
"You all have made him so famous. That’s why I don’t let him go out much these days. Someone might tempt him with chocolates or biscuits and get all my secrets out of him," Ram Charan had joked, which drew laughter from those present.
With Peddi coming out in a few months, the recent viral incident has made the film’s promotion more focused. There will be many fans waiting to see Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in what will be one of the biggest Telugu movies of the year.
