The actor-director Rishab Shetty, who catapulted himself to fame with his movie ‘Kantara’ with the new coming-of-age blockbuster has seen a last-minute leap over social media to pull attention in unexpected new direction with announcement the film.
The actor-director also just came out with his new ‘Chapter 2’ project with his own work around Ugadi. But fans believed it was the delayed sequel for the much-awaited film, it has been received as news a little weird and left audiences scratching their heads.
Remarkably, Rishab Shetty’s poster does not refer to Kantara: Chapter 2. Critics and consumers are riled up with debates on whether the film is the latest in the series, a sequel to a series of films of the same names, or an entirely fresh take on the name, or one more instance in a string of blockbusters or even a franchise-building one.
To make it even more intriguing, Hombale Films have started making the Kantara series, who are behind a number of big success movies. That said, this new film’s new ‘Chapter 2’ is being produced under Rishab Shetty’s own production house, which only compounds questions about the movie’s link to the ‘original’ film. Fans speculate that ‘Chapter 2’ doesn't belong at all, and could be, in fact, a sequel to his previous movie Sarkari Hi. Pra. Shaale.
Others think it might still be Kantara: Chapter 2, but with a different production arrangement at least. Adding to the excitement is recent Rishab Shetty activity on Instagram. Following eagle-eyed followers, it is known that the actor has unfollowed the official Kantara page and the Hombale Films’s account.
This surprise move has sparked rumors of a fallout, or differing creative methods, between the actor as well as production house. Yet neither Rishab Shetty or Hombale Films has put up a statement confirming what happened. Now fans are dying too for more to the tune of ‘Chapter 2’ be a true continuation, or as the next one in our saga of Kantara and a whole new movie.
The mystery over ‘Chapter 2’ is currently to the greatest of what audiences are already left wondering, and it’s probably the most publicized thing about this film for the Kannada right now.
