Shivarajkumar is still one of the most active actors in the Kannada film industry, juggling multiple big projects not only in Sandalwood but also in other Indian film industries. The veteran actor Shivanna (as his fans call him) is reportedly going back to work again with filmmaker R Chandru for a new project, which will make movie lovers really excited.
Now, director R Chandru has approached Shivarajkumar with a new story, and discussions are already in progress. The title of the film hasn't been finalised, but the news of a reunion has already generated a lot of interest from the Kannada audience.
Shivarajkumar has worked with R Chandru for years. They had worked together in the 2010 Kannada movie Mailari, directed by Chandru, and Shivarajkumar was playing a powerful part in it. Shivanna was also in Chandru’s ambitious pan-India gangster drama Kabzaa in 2023.
After Kabzaa, R Chandru had not officially announced any directorial venture and was reportedly working on a couple of story ideas over the past few years. Now it looks like one of those ideas might finally be taking shape with Shivarajkumar playing the lead role once again.
Shivarajkumar is going through one of his busiest times in acting. He has a long-running career now, but the filmmakers of all professions still like him as a movie star, because his presence on the screen, his flexibility and popularity with pan-India audiences have never been a bigger draw.
One of Shivanna’s most eagerly awaited movies is Peddi, starring Ram Charan. The Telugu sports drama will be released on June 4, and Shivarajkumar is the big star in it. It has already created huge expectations from fans for the film because it has a huge star cast.
But alongside Peddi, Shivarajkumar also plays a big part in Jailer 2, which is the sequel to the blockbuster Tamil action entertainer with Rajinikanth. Shivanna’s performance in the first part was also appreciated, and we are eagerly waiting for him to be back in the sequel.
The actor has also several Kannada films in the pipeline, including “Gummadi Narasayya,” “Dad,” and “666 Operation Dream Theatre.” Shivarajkumar has been travelling from one state to another in India for shooting and promotion in all languages and has many commitments for his films and campaigns.

R Chandru’s collaboration will further his already large list of upcoming movies and add to the actor’s growing list of upcoming ones. The duo’s past collaboration has become well known for its mass appeal and commercial success.
Shivarajkumar, who has found a place in Telugu and Tamil cinema’s recent renaissance, is also proof that South Indian cinema has been overcoming language barriers, and actors are becoming pan-India stars. His recent choices suggest he is looking for a balance between mainstream commercial entertainment and content-driven movies.
