Yash’s 'Toxic' Runtime Leaked; Censor Board Submission Moved Up

The excitement is all-consuming, with only three weeks left to release the next movie, "Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups" by Rocking Star Yash, and the fanfare surrounding the film has never been higher. The film, directed by Geetu Mohandas, will premiere in theaters worldwide on March 19, 2026.

With the promotion in full swing, there has been a storm of excitement about the film's length and certification as fresh media speculation has stirred public outcry.

The Runtime Rumor: Short or Strategically Split?

The official "Toxic" runtime, according to insider gossip, is roughly over two hours and twenty minutes (140 minutes). This comes as a surprise to many. But film critics say there are two reasons for the "shortened duration":

  • Quick Plot: The shorter the runtime, the faster the flow becomes, and the more likely a non-linear, high-octane screenplay is to end without unnecessary "filler" scenes, which characterize director Geetu Mohandas’s style.
  • Sequel Strategy: Toxic seems to be considering a split into two. The teaser suggests a "Father-Son" dynamic (Yash portraying both Raya and Ticket). The creators who kept the first half of the piece shorter may be building out Raya’s backstory and expecting the battle between the two to develop in the second installment.

Hurdles Of Censorship and Submitting Too Late

The film has evidently not yet been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Yet the KVN Productions staff is progressing on the submission timeline. This move comes as the digital teaser of the movie has been increasingly involved in an ongoing debate. Critics such as the women's wing of a political party, the Karnataka State Women's Commission raised questions about certain "obscene" and "violent" sections of the teaser.

The team plans to complete the censor process soon so it doesn’t leave any room for last-minute delays or mandatory cuts that could prevent the March 19 release. A Star-Studded Global Release. Toxic is touted as a giant pan-India and international undertaking. It has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, along with being dubbed in several languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
