The incident took place at Shakib Al Hasan's ancestral home in the Keshabmor area of Magura town around 8:45 p.m. on August 5, according to local reports and residents who said unidentified men threw petrol bombs at the property and damaged parts of the house.

Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries in the attack. But damage was done to the property and local law enforcement was on the scene very soon after the attack and began to investigate who could have done it.

Investigators have been collecting evidence from the site and have begun to collect evidence from CCTV footage and talking to people in the area, said a police spokesman. Security around the house has been beefed up as investigators investigate the motivation behind the attack.

The development has received a lot of attention as Shakib Al Hasan is not only Bangladesh's greatest cricketer but also a Member of Parliament for Magura-1 constituency. No reason for the attack has been given but the attack has fuelled speculation that it was linked to recent political developments or other factors.

Political leaders, sports personalities and supporters have condemned the violence and called for a thorough investigation and strong action against those involved.

Some have emphasized that disagreements should be resolved through legal and peaceful means rather than acts of vandalism or violence.

But as the investigation continues, citizens are being advised to stop spreading unverified information and law enforcement is doing their job. As of the time of writing, there were no arrests.

Shakib Al Hasan’s home attack has once again raised fears of political tensions and public security in Bangladesh. And I know that we are doing everything to find out who did it and get justice for it, all the time.

The shocking incident has once again highlighted concerns about political and public security in Bangladesh. Authorities have assured citizens that every effort is being made to identify the attackers and maintain law and order.

Further updates are expected as investigators continue their inquiry into the petrol bomb attack on Shakib Al Hasan's residence.
