It Will Get Much Worse': Trump Shares Dramatic Videos of Fresh US Strikes on Iran Amid Escalating Conflict

The clash between the United States and Iran has reached a dangerous new phase as President Donald Trump showed off dramatic videos of fresh American military strikes on Iranian targets and warned Tehran that “it will get much worse” if attacks continue. Washington launched another wave of military strikes in response to what US officials describe as Iranian aggression in the world’s most important maritime route.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump described the latest military action as retaliation for attacks on commercial vessels moving through the Strait of Hormuz. Several videos that he presented as footage of US airstrikes, showing nighttime explosions and military operations, were posted alongside his warning. Trump said, if these attacks did happen again, “it will get much worse,” implying that if necessary Washington will go to war.

The latest strikes were intended to further degrade Iran’s capabilities to frustrate freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said. A number of military infrastructures, the military officials said, including coastal radar stations, drone sites, missile sites and other strategic facilities were targeted, and were believed to be related to recent attacks on international shipping.

Iranian state media reported explosions in several places, including Bandar Abbas, Sirik and parts of Bushehr province. There was also an explosion near a railway bridge outside Aqqala in Golestan province. Iranian authorities confirmed multiple locations were hit and said the US action is a violation of international law and an escalation of hostilities.

The latest military action comes as the ceasefire agreement has broken down on a day-to-day basis and Washington and Tehran are now at war. President Trump has declared that the understanding between Washington and Tehran is “over” and Iran is violating the terms by attacking commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. US officials say freedom of navigation through the waterway is an important national security issue because it is a global energy lifeline.

Iran rejects the US accusations and has denied that Washington is doing so and accused Washington of launching unjustified attacks. Iranian representatives at the United Nations also sent a formal letter to the world body to express their condemnation of the latest strikes and to the international community for the continuing military aggression, they told the world they feel that is an affront to their sovereignty. Iranian officials also said they are prepared to defend their sovereignty against any future attacks.

The intensification of fighting has raised global financial markets’ concerns. Oil prices shot up on fears that a protracted war with the military could disrupt energy shipping through the Strait of Hormuz which flows a huge portion of world crude oil exports. Stock markets also sold off in the meantime, as uncertainty over the Middle East’s geopolitical situation is mounting.

Trump’s decision to publish publicly the footage of the military operation has caused a lot of debate online. Trump supporters hailed the posts as a sign of American resolve, while critics questioned whether the battlefield footage of a battle in a war must be released from a public place during an active military campaign. The videos were quickly spread on social media platforms, and were one of the most followed international news stories of the day.

International leaders have been growing increasingly worried that continued exchanges between the United States and Iran are likely to further destabilize the region. Diplomatic efforts for dialogue are far from being possible as both sides launch military strikes and strong public statements of war. The United Nations has called on all parties to keep quiet and told all parties to refrain from taking actions that could escalate into a longer-term regional conflict and to avoid any kind of conflict that could lead to a wider regional war.

As the conflict continues, governments in the Gulf region keep track of what is going on around them. And with Washington warning of harsher retaliation and Tehran threatening to respond to more attacks, it will be in the next days that we will see if the conflict escalates or diplomatic efforts can prevent a broader war.
