US Expert Calls Pakistan’s Iran War Peace Pitch ‘Ludicrous’, Backs India

With increasing tension in the midst of Iran War 2026, a US defense expert has attacked Pakistani efforts to cast itself as a mediator, calling their peace proposal “ludicrous” and claiming that it can not be achieved so easily without having India participating in such dialogue.

The comments come at precisely the time when Pakistan is putting on a show of being a diplomatic bridge and is offering to host talks as well as calling for a calm between Iran and Western powers. Yet the geopolitical weight of the state and internal contradictions hurt Islamabad as far as Pakistan’s credibility as having a neutral mediator goes.

Because India maintains balanced relations with both Iran and Western powers, even as well as on other platforms the expert says, it has a much more stable position. India already has strong regional strategic expertise and diplomatic stability and thus is a more reliable and stable player for complex international disputes, he says.

The criticism also underscores Pakistan’s dual approach in the vicinity. Islamabad has offered peace and mediated yet has a big deal with others on both sides, as it is deeply aligned with Saudi Arabia and has taken very strong stands on the matter, which may be undermining confidence in Islamabad.

India in contrast has always had a more subtle, and sometimes more circumspect involvement in West Asian geopolitics. And experts say that Delhi's ability to work from other sides without overt alignment means it would be well positioned if it wants to play at peace building.

That conflict is still taking place globally with the US more involved and wants to see and seek strategic results in all the way with this battle at stake. The issue of how and where to mediate peace has become a topic of much higher importance as diplomatic efforts continue.

The expert’s words only added more fuel to the geopolitical story which is about the state of the region stability and how emerging powers play a crucial role in global conflict resolution.

As tension remains high, there is an expectation among international observers that if any peace is to take a step forward an imminent diplomatic solution is to have credible intermediaries for the solution and a good level of diplomatic leverage between India and Pakistan; the kind of leverage that now seems to be on the side of India and not Pakistan.
