No Left Turn US Calls on 60 Nations to Unite Against Political Terrorism

Trump has once again made headlines with a bold warning on Iran, telling the world he’s already given instructions for the United States to attack Iran and send the United States into a major war if he is assassinated by the Iranian regime.

Trump said in an interview that if Iran were to blame for his death, the U.S. should “bomb them like never before.” Those plans had already been made clear to the appropriate authorities, he said, and America should respond with maximum force in a war with Iran if it happens, he said.

"I've left instructions. If they do it, they get obliterated. There won't be anything left," Trump said, according to the report. He also made a light-hearted comment saying to the people that “I hope you’ll miss me” when talking about an assassination attempt.

The comments come at a time of increasing tension between Washington and Tehran that has been brewing for years after the U.S. airstrike killed Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in January 2020. Iranian officials have since pledged revenge and US intelligence agencies have warned of threats to current and former American officials linked to the operation.

Trump’s words are likely to deepen already fragile relations between the two countries. Although there is no recent evidence of an imminent Iranian plot against the former president, US security agencies continue to monitor credible threats.

Trump has been under intensified security protection in recent years because of multiple domestic and foreign threat assessments.

The former president’s statement comes at a time of high geopolitical tension in the Middle East. Iran, Israel, and US-backed forces have frequently fought each other in the region and the threat of a broader conflict has been raised.

Political analysts say Trump’s comments are consistent with his long-standing “peace through strength” approach that is based on deterrence through the threat of a huge military response by saying he would strike back with the threat of overwhelming force in the face of adversaries and have a strong military response to them.

Supporters of Trump’s claims are convinced that such statements will deter them from attacking American leaders, but critics fear that the rhetoric will also escalate diplomatic tensions and increase regional instability.

The White House has not commented on Trump’s remarks and Iranian officials have not given any immediate reaction. But past Iranian officials have criticized Trump’s remarks in previous years for provoking conflict and undermining regional stability.

Security experts say that while contingency plans for the protection of national leaders are common practice, public disclosure of such instructions is not a normal practice. Trump’s decision to openly talk about it has triggered a lively discussion among politicians and social media.

As the nation is about to enter a much more politically charged period, Trump’s comments are likely to spark more discussions about national security, foreign policy, and America’s relationship with Iran. But whether it is seen as a strong deterrent or provocative rhetoric, the statement has once again put US-Iran relations under the microscope.
