CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Alleges Threat to Join BJP; Mother Says Family Went into Hiding

A political controversy erupted after Anita Dipke, the mother of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke, said earlier in the week that her son received a threatening video of Abhijeet Dipke being told by the Bharatiya Janata Party to join the BJP or face consequences for his family.

In an interview with a Marathi news channel on the eve of her son's return from New Delhi, Anita Dipke said the threat forced the whole family to leave their home and stay with relatives in the Konkan region for nearly 16 days out of fear for their safety.

Abhijeet initially did not inform his parents about the purported threat, Anita said. He later confirmed that he had received a disturbing video message but advised her not to watch it because of its content.

She claimed that the video warned her son that if he refused to join the BJP, his parents would face serious consequences. Abhijeet asked his parents to leave their homes temporarily and stay elsewhere until the situation became clearer.

"We stayed away from our home for 16 days because of the fear created by the alleged threat," Anita Dipke said in an interview I reported.

The allegations have drawn political attention, but they are the claims of the family. At present, there is no official confirmation of the authenticity of the alleged video or the identity of the people who may have sent it, the investigators say.

Similarly, the BJP has not publicly responded to these allegations at the time of writing.

It is also unclear whether a formal police complaint has been filed for the alleged threat. No official statement has been made that any investigation is taking place in any way.

The incident has raised discussions on social media about how much people in both the business community and political media want a fair investigation to be conducted and the truth to be established.

Political analysts note that allegations of threats to political figures are serious and require thorough investigation before any conclusions can be drawn. They have urged law enforcement agencies to verify the authenticity of the purported video, identify its source, and determine whether any criminal offence has been committed.

Now that he’s the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, Abhijeet Dipke has been a political target ever since he started his political campaign and public comments. He has now found himself in the spotlight once more after the allegations, and so many people are expecting him to give an official answer once he gets back to Delhi.

In the course of the affair, all eyes will be on whether the police open an investigation and whether political parties respond to the allegations.

Until the family's findings are established, the allegations are unverified, and we have no conclusions on the individuals or organisations mentioned in the statements.
