Amit Shah will be visiting Kollam, Kerala on September 26, 2026 and is due to inaugurate some schemes connected to the cooperative sector.
The main programme is scheduled at Pavithram Convention Centre in Kundara with the theme “Sahkar Se Samriddhi”, or prosperity through cooperation. It is organised in conjunction with the International Year of Women Farmers and is aimed at increasing women's participation in cooperative activities.
NCCF initiatives are focused on women.
The programme will be organized through the National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India (NCCF).
According to UNI, Shah will inaugurate some initiatives like Vanitham She-Mart shops in order to develop women-led cooperative enterprises. He will also flag off mobile vans that will sell onions from buffer stocks at a subsidised price of ₹35 per kg.
The expansion of the Nandini Sahakar and Swayam Shakti Sahakar schemes is also expected to be launched during the programme.
These efforts are part of the cooperative sector approach promoted by the Union Ministry of Cooperation and are aimed at creating economic opportunities through cooperatives.
Programme at Pavithram Convention Centre
The Kundara programme is scheduled for the afternoon. UNI gives the time of the programme as 2:45 PM to 4:15 PM while IANS gives the time for Shah's engagement to start around 2 PM.
Union Minister of State Suresh Gopi will be the guest of honour. NCCF Managing Director Anees Joseph Chandra and Chairman Vishal Singh will also be present.

Shah's Other Kollam Programme
Following the Kundara event, Amit Shah will travel to Amritapuri in Vallikavu, where he will be part of programmes for Mata Amritanandamayi Devi's 73rd birthday.
The Amritapuri programme is scheduled for the afternoon and includes the Vishwa Seva Dinam and Amrit Keerthi Puraskar ceremony.
Traffic Restrictions in Kollam
Amit Shah’s visit has led to security arrangements and traffic restrictions in Kollam. Police have announced restrictions on several roads during his movement through the district.
Local reports indicate that road restrictions around the major routes will run from 1 PM to 5 PM on September 26 and motorists should switch to other routes.
