The accident took place on the Jhansi-Kanpur National Highway in the jurisdiction of the Poonch Police Station, said police officials. Aban Ahmed was travelling in a white Hyundai Creta with several friends when it went out of control and collided with a road divider. The impact of the collision was so strong that the car was left completely mangled and people in the vehicle could not have survived.

Aban Ahmed and his friend Sonu died on the spot due to the intensity of the crash. Three other passengers were critically injured in the accident as well. Emergency responders and local police rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information of the incident. The injured were first sent to the Community Health Centre in Moth for immediate treatment and were later sent to Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College in Jhansi for advanced medical care.

Police sources said Aban had travelled from Prayagraj to Jhansi to meet his elder brother Ali Ahmed, who is in jail. After completing the visit, he and his friends were on their way back when the accident took place. The accident was investigated by police for the cause of the accident, but preliminary reports suggest that overspeeding could have been the most serious cause.

In the wake of the accident, security in the hospital and Jhansi jail was very tight at the time of the accident as news of the accident made its way out. Police took control of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination. Senior officers in charge of law and order in the area have been monitoring the situation.

Aban Ahmed’s death adds to the family’s dark history. The former Member of Parliament and one of Uttar Pradesh’s most notorious mafia figures, Atiq Ahmed, was shot dead along with his brother Ashraf Ahmed in April 2023. The two were being escorted to Prayagraj for a medical examination when two people posing as journalists opened fire on them in view of the television cameras, shocking the country.

Before that, Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad Ahmed was killed in an encounter with UP STF in Jhansi in April 2023. Asad was wanted in several criminal cases and was among the most high-profile fugitives in the state at the time of his death.

With Asad dying, Ali Ahmed and Umar Ahmed imprisoned, and now Aban Ahmed killed in a road accident, the family has been through many tragedies in a short time. The latest situation has attracted a lot of attention in Uttar Pradesh as well as abroad due to the family’s notoriety.

As well, relatives, friends and well-wishers have come together to mourn the young man. A tragedy that is no doubt tragic to see how fast people die from traffic accidents on highways when they are going too fast.

As the investigation continues, officials will provide more details on the crash and the condition of the injured survivors. For now, the grieving family and legal matters are on the front burner; they are dealing with another member of the Ahmed family’s death.
