More than 100 electric bikes were reportedly destroyed after a major fire broke out at an EV bike parking lot in Bengaluru's NRI Layout in Ramamurthy Nagar.
The incident took place within the jurisdiction of Ramamurthy Nagar police station. The electric vehicles caught fire and thick smoke was seen from the parking area.
According to preliminary information, a large number of EV bikes parked at the location were engulfed in flames, and the fire rapidly spread through the parking area.
Two Fire Engines Rushed to the Spot
After receiving information about the fire, two fire engines were rushed to the location, said one source.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel immediately worked to suppress the fire as soon as it was detected and prevent it from spreading.
Firefighters were able to control the situation and extinguish the flames.
The large number of electric bikes parked close to one another probably made the situation particularly challenging for the emergency response teams.
