An extremely serious traffic safety complaint has been raised against the conduct of a two-wheeler rider in Kundalahalli, Bengaluru, on 18 August 2026. The complaint said the motorcycle with registration number KA03HR8452 was being ridden in such a way that it was dangerously blocking a fully loaded sleeper bus. The incident has raised concerns about reckless road behaviour and the potential risks such actions can create for passengers, motorists and other road users.
As described by the complaint, the rider had parked the motorcycle by the sleeper bus and did slow down and start again. Such behaviour, if proven through the evidence, could be dangerous, especially when a large passenger bus is coming in and going out. A fully loaded sleeper bus requires much longer time and effort to slow down or stop than a two-wheeler, so abrupt changes in speed or deliberate obstruction are very worrying.
This was in the Kundalahalli area of Bangalore, for instance, where traffic is very heavy and there is significant congestion. Buses, private cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles and other transport are common in the area.
The complaint also states that the rider did not wear a helmet while on the motorcycle. Helmet use is one of the most rudimentary road safety requirements for two-wheeler riders since it can substantially lower the severity of head injuries in the case of a crash. Riding without proper protective gear puts the rider at great risk, particularly on busy urban roads.
Another allegation in the complaint is that the rider was smoking while riding. If verified, that would be a further worry because having a cigarette while riding could diminish attention, visibility, balance and the ability to respond quickly to changing traffic conditions. The allegations need to be verified by the competent traffic authorities before any conclusion can be drawn.
The complaint has called on authorities to investigate and take appropriate action under applicable traffic laws if violations are confirmed. Any investigation might look at available CCTV footage, traffic cameras, dashcam footage, photographs or videos captured by witnesses and the registration details of the motorcycle.
The vehicle registration number, as described in the complaint, can help authorities find out the registered owner of the motorcycle and the exact circumstances of the incident. But vehicle ownership is not enough to know who was using the motorcycle at the time. So police would need to determine the identity of the rider and assess the available evidence before any action is taken.
The incident also points to a bigger road safety problem in Bengaluru. Drivers of large passenger vehicles and two-wheelers share increasingly crowded roads, so mutual caution is mandatory. Motorists are expected to maintain safe distances, avoid sudden braking or acceleration, follow lane discipline and refrain from behaviour that could unnecessarily increase the risk of collisions.
Wearing a certified helmet and maintaining full attention on the road are fundamental safety precautions for riders. Bus and other heavy vehicle drivers should also maintain a safe following distance and exercise caution around smaller vehicles. Road safety ultimately depends on responsible behaviour by every road user.

The allegations concerning KA03HR8452 remain allegations unless independently verified by the authorities. Real evidence will be needed to establish what happened on August 18 and to know whether any traffic offence was committed. If the reported conduct is confirmed, appropriate action under the applicable laws could reinforce the importance of responsible driving and discourage dangerous behaviour on Bengaluru's busy roads.
Such small actions of road aggression or obstruction, if not just in small vehicles, can have serious implications for large passenger buses. With a sleeper bus carrying passengers, the impact of sudden braking or loss of control could have been significant. A prompt investigation and appropriate enforcement should therefore be in place to promote road discipline and to protect Bengaluru’s commuters.
