The incident happened Wednesday morning at Sterling English Residential School in Kadayarappanahalli village, Bagalur, near Yelahanka.

Based on a complaint filed by the boy’s father, Bengaluru police registered a case against the PT teacher, identified as Narayan, under Section 101 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Family Alleges Boy Was Beaten With Iron Rod

According to the complaint, the boy's father alleged that the PT teacher assaulted his son with an iron rod and bent his neck, causing his son to die.

The father said the school contacted him around 6 am and told him that his son had suddenly fallen ill while exercising and was shifted to a nearby hospital.

"The school said my son collapsed while jogging this morning. But when we reached the hospital, he was already dead. I suspect something happened inside the school," he said.

He also claimed that another student told the family that the boy had been beaten inside the hostel by the PT teacher.

School Claims Student Collapsed While Running

According to senior police officials, the school management maintained that the student collapsed after running a short distance during morning physical activity.

Police also said the school informed them that the boy had some pre-existing health issues.

The authorities said the exact cause of death would be determined only after the postmortem examination.

Police Collecting CCTV Footage

Investigators have also sent a notice to the PT teacher for him to appear for questioning.

Police are also collecting CCTV footage from the school campus and recording statements from staff members and students to establish the sequence of events.

"We have issued a notice to the PT teacher. We are also collecting CCTV footage from the school to understand what happened."

Parents Stage Protest

The sudden death of the student caused protests from his parents, relatives and other family members outside the school and demonstrators asked for a thorough investigation and strong action against those responsible if foul play is found.

Police said the investigation is still going on and further action will depend on the postmortem findings and forensic evidence and witness statements.
