Papanna took a video on the night before his death and shared it with many people, police sources said. In the video, he accused a family in AKG Colony in Kadugodi police station limits of repeatedly targeting him and his family through false allegations and legal cases. He specifically named Jogi Seena, Prashanth, Santosh, and Lalith Kumar for the mental distress that led him to end his life.

The video’s allegations have become an important part of the investigation. Papanna said he was under a lot of emotional stress because of accusations and legal disputes around him and his family members. “The kind of atrocity complaints that were filed against him and his family members have caused a lot of hardship and social stigma,” he said.

In a video message, Papanna appealed to authorities to protect his family members, particularly his younger sister, from further harassment. The same people could continue targeting his relatives even after his death, he said.

The deceased also claimed that a similar atrocity case had been filed against him in 2021. A lot of money had been transferred during efforts to resolve it, he said. He also claimed that another complaint had recently been made and that demands were being made for money again. Papanna was a poor businessman who was unable to withstand the mounting pressure and repeated legal challenges.

After the incident, Kadugodi police registered a case based on the complaint filed by Papanna’s sister, Bhagyashree. They are now investigating the contents of the video and checking the claims made by the deceased. Other evidence and statements from family and witnesses have also been gathered, and the case is being investigated, and the suspects are still being questioned.

Police have taken four people into custody for questioning as part of the investigation. The investigation is to determine whether there is evidence to back up the suicide video and if harassment or intimidation was involved.

Police officers said that all aspects of the case are being investigated thoroughly. They said the allegations in the video are currently claims made by the deceased and will be corroborated through evidence, witness accounts, and legal scrutiny before any conclusions are reached.

Mental health, legal disputes, and the effects of decades of social and financial stress have sparked discussions, and the family has been given an assurance that there will be a fair and impartial investigation into the circumstances that led to Papanna’s death and whether any criminal liability exists.

The case is still being investigated at Kadugodi Police Station, and further action will be based on the outcome of the investigation.
