Bengaluru Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory for Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi celebrations and warned people about heavy traffic, road diversions, and movement restrictions in various parts of the city to avoid congestion. Heavy crowds and religious processions throughout the day will affect traffic in the morning and evening, and government officials are advising people to plan their routes.
Muslim community members are expected to gather at YMCA Ground on Nrupatunga Road from noon to late in the evening, the advisory says. Thousands of devotees are likely to participate in various religious events and processions, and traffic is likely to be heavier on the main roads in central and northern Bengaluru.
City officials said congestion is expected on several major routes, including J.C. Road, R.R. Road, Kasturba Road, Devanga Road, Mallya Hospital Road, K.G. Road, R.T. Nagar Main Road, Chamundinagar Main Road, Dinnur Main Road, Jayamahal Road, Church Road, Nagawara Main Road, Tannery Main Road, and the Haines Road–Miller’s Road corridor. They said motorists using these roads should expect delays and consider alternate routes wherever possible.
Major Diversions for Mysuru Road Commuters
In order to relieve congestion during the celebrations, Bengaluru Traffic Police have set up special diversions for vehicles travelling from Mysuru Road to Majestic. These vehicles will be redirected through Nayandahalli Junction, Nagarabhavi Circle, Madduramma Temple, Chandra Layout Junction, RPC Layout Junction, West of Chord Road, Vijayanagar Metro Station, Toll Gate Junction, Prasanna Junction, Hunasemara Junction, Lulu Mall, Okalipuram Junction, and Khode Junction before they arrive at Majestic.
Commuters on Mysuru Road may also be able to use Deepanjalinagar Junction to access West of Chord Road and continue towards Majestic via Vijayanagar and Magadi Road.
For those going to the City Market, police suggested an alternative route via Nayandahalli Junction, Nagarabhavi Circle, Madduramma Temple, Chandra Layout, RPC Layout, West of Chord Road, Vijayanagar Metro Station, Toll Gate Junction, Prasanna Junction, Hunasemara Junction, Angalaparameshwari Temple, Binny Mill Junction, Goodshed Road, Rayyan Road, Shanthala Circle, Khode Junction, Lakshmanpuri Bridge, Freedom Park Junction, K.R. Circle, Cubbon Park Road, Library Road, Hudson Circle, Town Hall Junction, and N.R. Road.
Restrictions During Processions
If religious processions are to travel through different parts of the city, some temporary restrictions will be imposed.
When the procession reaches Market Circle, vehicles approaching from A.S. Char Street Junction will be diverted towards B.V.K. Iyengar Road. Similarly, vehicles coming from G.P. Street and S.R. Road will not be allowed to enter S.R. Street and will instead be redirected towards B.V.K. Iyengar Road.

Vehicles approaching Market Circle from K.R. Road will be diverted through Prof. Shivashankarappa Circle, L.B.F. Road, J.C. Road, and Town Hall. Those travelling through A.V. Road towards K.R. Road will be directed towards Minto Circle.
When the procession reaches S.J.P. Road, traffic from Mysuru Road will be diverted at City Market Circle through Kalasipalya Main Road, K.P. Point, Basappa Circle, L.B.F. Road, J.C. Road, and Town Hall.
During the movement of the procession between Mysuru Road and Town Hall via Sirsi Circle, vehicles arriving from Mysuru Road and Magadi Road will be rerouted through Sirsi Road and Chamarajpet roads before proceeding towards City Market and other destinations.
Cubbon Park Entry Restricted
Police have also announced that entry of all types of vehicles into Cubbon Park through Hudson Circle will remain prohibited during the event period to facilitate smooth traffic management and ensure public safety.
Police Appeal to Citizens
The Bengaluru Traffic Police have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel through affected areas and use alternative routes wherever possible. Commuters have been advised to check real-time traffic updates and follow instructions issued by traffic personnel on duty.

Travellers heading towards central business districts, markets, railway stations, and bus terminals are encouraged to start early and account for possible delays.
