A heavy rush of devotees was seen outside the famous Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram on the auspicious day of Thiruvonam as people came to offer prayers and seek blessings on the occasion of Thiruvonam.
Thiruvonam is the most important day of Kerala's Onam celebrations and holds deep cultural and religious significance across the state. The festival is associated with the annual homecoming of the legendary King Mahabali and is celebrated with prayers, traditional feasts, floral decorations, cultural programmes and family gatherings.
Thiruvonam (September 26th) is the day when the people of Kerala come to temples to begin the festival on a good note. The Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, one of the most famous religious landmarks in Kerala, is a prime tourist attraction, and so people in Kerala are more drawn to it as a whole.
