A major drug seizure has been reported from Bengaluru's Vidyaranyapura area, where police have allegedly uncovered an MDMA distribution network operating from a mutton shop. Two people have been arrested in connection with the case, while police have seized MDMA worth an estimated ₹10.60 lakh along with mobile phones, cash and a two-wheeler.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Junaid Pasha and Rizwan Baig. According to the police investigation, the accused allegedly sourced the drugs from a Nigerian national and used the mutton shop as a location for distributing the contraband. The operation came to light after Vidyaranyapura police reportedly received specific information about the alleged drug activity.
106 Grams of MDMA Seized
Acting on the information, Vidyaranyapura police conducted a raid on the premises. During the operation, officers reportedly recovered 106 grams of MDMA, with the seized substance valued at approximately ₹10.60 lakh.
In addition to the suspected narcotic substance, police also seized two mobile phones, ₹2,590 in cash and a two-wheeler allegedly connected to the activities under investigation. The seized materials are expected to form part of the evidence being examined as the investigation progresses.
The seizure has highlighted the continuing efforts by Bengaluru police to identify and disrupt suspected drug distribution networks operating in different parts of the city. According to investigators, the accused allegedly obtained MDMA from a Nigerian national before bringing it into their distribution network. Police suspect that the mutton shop was being used as a convenient location for selling the substance.
