The discovery has triggered a police investigation, with officers investigating the cause for his death and searching for his caretaker, who is missing.

According to ACP Ankita Khatarkar, the suspected time of the murder was between 2 am and 3 am. Investigation is still being carried out and we are not sure who entered or left the residence at the time the crime was suspected.

Former IAS Officer found dead at Bhopal Residence

Agrawal's body was found in his bedroom at his home. The Panghat Colony behind Suraj Nagar has now become the focus of the police investigation as officers investigate the residence for any evidence.

The circumstances of the death have led to questions about the caretaker’s role and whereabouts. Police are looking for the missing caretaker as part of their investigation.

At this point investigators will try to establish the sequence of events leading up to the discovery of the body. Statements from people associated with the deceased, neighbours and other people connected with the residence may be part of the investigation.

The Police and Early-Morning Time Window

ACP Ankita Khatarkar said the suspected time of the murder was between 2 am and 3 am. That early morning window is expected to be essential as investigators reconstruct the events at the residence.

Police may look at available CCTV footage from the surrounding area, movements near the house and other evidence that could help determine who was present around the suspected time of the incident.

The caretaker's location is also likely to be a big part of the investigation. In order to know when the caretaker was last seen, whether he was at the residence at the time of the crime and where he went after it happened, investigators will have to establish whether he was there or not.

Investigation Underway

Because of the victim’s previous IAS background, investigators are still trying to find out what caused his death and who did it.

Police investigations in such cases typically involve investigating the crime scene, gathering forensic evidence and recording witness statements from those connected to the deceased. Evidence may also be pulled out of phone records and other evidence as they try to reconstruct the sequence of events.

The missing caretaker is now a critical aspect of the investigation but his absence alone does not prove his involvement in the death. Police will have to prove the facts through evidence and questioning.

The questions police are trying to answer.

Among the key questions in the case are what happened inside Agrawal’s residence between 2 am and 3 am, who was in the property and when the caretaker was last seen.

Investigators will also try to determine the circumstances in which the former IAS officer died and whether there were signs of forced entry or any other evidence pointing to an outsider's involvement.

Police will be able to collect more evidence and statements and might be able to clarify what exactly happened in the death. The missing caretaker and the sequence of events will be revealed in the course of the investigation as the case goes on.

As we say now, the death of the former IAS officer remains under investigation, and Bhopal police are now focusing on the residence in Suraj Nagar and searching for the missing caretaker as they try to piece together the events surrounding the suspected murder.
