Authorities in Mangaluru have received a serious bomb threat email warning of explosions at five Regional Transport Office (RTO) locations. The email, which has now been circulated among officials, has raised alarm and prompted immediate security measures.
The threatening message was reportedly sent from the address aarna aswin [email protected]. In the mail, the sender claimed that Pakistan’s ISI cell, in coordination with former LTTE members, is planning a remote‑controlled operation to carry out blasts. The email also contained references to political issues in Tamil Nadu, suggesting that the motive may be linked to regional disputes.
Shockingly, the mail also praised Sajjan Haider and raised slogans in support of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), further intensifying concerns about cross‑border links. In addition, the names of certain IPS officers from Tamil Nadu were mentioned, adding a layer of intimidation and attempting to drag senior officials into the threat narrative.
Police and intelligence agencies have taken the matter seriously. Security has been tightened around RTO offices in Mangaluru and nearby areas. Investigations are underway to trace the origin of the email and verify the credibility of the threat. Cybercrime units are also involved in tracking the sender’s digital footprint.
Officials have assured the public that precautionary measures are being taken to ensure safety. While the authenticity of the threat is still under examination, authorities are treating it as a high‑priority case given the references to terror groups and cross‑border involvement.
The incident highlights the growing challenge of handling cyber‑based threats that mix political motives with terror propaganda. As investigations continue, the focus remains on safeguarding public spaces and preventing panic among citizens.
