Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with huge development projects in the state and helped Andhra Pradesh emerge from what he described as a critical moment.
Naidu spoke about the Centre’s role in the development of the state, mentioning Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam Railway Zone and Polavaram irrigation project as areas where the Union government’s support and decisions have strengthened Andhra Pradesh’s future.

Naidu also expressed confidence that the first phase of Amaravati, the proposed capital city of Andhra Pradesh, would be completed and inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in 2028.
“PM Modi is saving Andhra Pradesh from a critical state by approving the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone and the Polavaram project. Amaravati’s first phase will be inaugurated by PM Modi in 2028,” the Chief Minister said.
The remarks underline the close political and administrative relationship between the Telugu Desam Party-led Andhra Pradesh government and the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government at the Centre.
The development of Amaravati, the future of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, the establishment of the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone and the completion of the Polavaram project have remained major political and economic issues in Andhra Pradesh.
