Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday also attended the Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (Mega PTM) in Rampachodavaram and reiterated his government’s intention to strengthen the education system in the state by having parents, teachers and local communities involved.
The Chief Minister said this was the fourth Mega PTM he had attended personally. He recalled being in such meetings in Bapatla, Sri Sathya Sai and Manyam districts and said that the new programme was being held in Polavaram district as part of the government's statewide initiative to improve school education.

The Mega PTM initiative is intended to build stronger partnerships between schools and families by encouraging direct interaction between parents and teachers, Naidu said. He said regular engagement helps parents more thoroughly understand the progress of their children and teachers identify areas of opportunity for additional support.
The Chief Minister went on to say quality education is one of the government’s top priorities and that the future of Andhra Pradesh is based on investment in the growth and development of its students. Community involvement is crucial in creating a culture where children will be able to flourish academically and socially, he said.
Naidu spoke to parents, teachers, and education officials on the day and encouraged them to work together to improve learning results in government schools. Attendance, discipline, and constant communication with families are needed to ensure every child is educated properly, he said.
Mega PTM has been introduced as part of a long-term plan to improve educational standards in Andhra Pradesh. By bringing parents into the education process (in an integrated manner), the government aims to increase accountability, transparency and raise students' academic performance and overall development level.
Education officials at the meeting provided insights on ongoing efforts to enhance school infrastructure, improve teaching and integrate technology in classrooms. Students are being provided with better facilities for building up foundational learning and digital education in urban and rural areas.
Naidu said development in the state is intrinsically related to the quality of its education system. He said investments in schools, teachers and students would be so important for Andhra Pradesh’s long-term social and economic growth.
The Chief Minister also recognized teachers as having been instrumental in the development of the nation, he said. He said educators should continue to inspire the students and prepare them for higher education, employment, as well as for careers as entrepreneurs.
The parents attending the meeting enjoyed getting to meet teachers and school administrators directly. Most of the parents appreciated the initiative, saying it allows them to know the strengths of their child and recognize where they need improvement and engage in the education of their child.
The Mega PTM initiative is consistent with the Andhra Pradesh government’s aim to strengthen the ties between educational institutions and families. In terms of regular dialogue and community involvement, the program is designed to create a more inclusive and effective education system.
As the government is organizing similar meetings across the state, the initiative will have a further effect on parental involvement and also build on the ongoing agenda of improving learning in the schools in Andhra Pradesh.
