Chikkamagaluru: A family preparing for a wedding is now mourning the sudden death of a 25-year-old man who allegedly died by suicide after ingesting poison at his home in Madhugundi village of Mudigere taluk in Chikkamagaluru district.
The deceased was Abhishek, a resident of Madhugundi village. The marriage was arranged only last month, and family members had tentatively scheduled the wedding for October 25, it said. He was in his wedding preparations when the tragedy hit, and his family and relatives were in shock.
There was a poisoning incident four days ago
Abhishek had consumed poison at his home four days earlier in an apparent suicide attempt. He was immediately taken to Mudigere Taluk Hospital, where he received treatment.
His condition became serious, and he was then transferred to the hospital in Mangaluru for further and advanced medical treatment. Family members and relatives were hopeful he would survive in the midst of such distress.
But after fighting for his life for four days, Abhishek died on Tuesday after the treatment failed to save him.
