The CJP today reiterated that its demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan remains "non-negotiable" after a meeting with Union Ministers JP Nadda and Dr. Jitendra Singh in New Delhi.
CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das, speaking to the media after the nearly two-hour meeting, said the delegation had made it clear that the movement is centred on accountability and that the demand for the Education Minister's resignation cannot be compromised.

"We spoke with them. We told them that this is non-negotiable. It’s not about the CJP, Sonam ji, or any one individual. This movement is about accountability," Das said.
Das told us that the delegation had shown the government that people in the country have rallied around one single basic demand—that Dharmendra Pradhan should take responsibility and resign or be removed from the Union Cabinet of India.
He said the delegation told the ministers there was no negotiation on this issue and advised the government to take a decision after consulting its senior leadership.
Das said the Union Ministers told the delegation that the government would discuss the matter with its top leadership and provide a response tomorrow at 3:30 pm.
"The government has told us that it will speak to its top leadership and get back to us tomorrow at 3.30 pm," he said.
The CJP spokesperson said if nothing is happening in terms of the CJP's work on this issue, it would accelerate its agitation. The delegation also informed the government that it may issue a nationwide call for a larger protest than the demonstration on July 20 if no satisfactory response is received, Das said.
He said the mobilisation would be for the future of the movement and to bring about what the organisation calls greater accountability in examination-related matters.
The meeting between the CJP delegation and Union Ministers JP Nadda and Dr. Jitendra Singh occurred during ongoing discussions over examination reforms, accountability, and student concerns. Government officials said that they had listened to the delegation’s concerns and would respond after internal consultations.
The Centre has always said that it is committed to protecting the integrity of public examinations and has said that investigations are ongoing. Reforms to strengthen examination systems and institutional mechanisms are also being considered, it said.
For both sides, though, they will be waiting for the government’s response to the discussions and whether more protests will take place in the next few days.
