Under the guidance of credible intelligence, the Crime Branch raided a warehouse on Pushta Road Jagatpur. They found numerous expired products inside, including Nestlé Sugar Free, Glucon‑D, Dabur Chyawanprash, Vicks VapoRub, Savlon, Odomos, and Clean & Clear. Investigators determined that the expired products were going through chemical treatment to scrub off old markings, re‑dated with sham expiry labels and then repackaged to be new stock. A 40‑year-old Ghaziabad resident, Omprakash Sharma, who was dubbed the convict, was arrested at the scene. Police announced that he had created an illegal operation that tampered with expiry dates and batch numbers to make the products appear new before selling them publicly.

The racket posed serious health risks, officials said. Expired food supplements, medicines and cosmetics can harm patients with everything from stomach infections to skin allergies. It was the involvement of established brands that made the racket even more deadly, as unscrupulous peddlers were able to prey on unsuspecting consumers to sell them the products they desired. Police are working on tracing the supply chain where the expired stock came and went. The racket might have been there for months, if not years, the authorities say, due to the size of what has been confiscated.

DCP Vikram Singh said the Crime Branch is opening investigation on additional individuals and networks tied to the ring. He said law will be taken on board strictly and that consumers' safety is a top priority. Police also urged people to take care of food and cosmetics, to check expiry dates carefully, and buy only from trusted outlets.

The Jagatpur warehouse racket bust has exposed a dangerous scheme that put public health at risk. By re-dating and repackaging expired goods, the accused attempted gain at the expense of consumer safety.
