The Delhi Police’s New Delhi Zone, ahead of the country’s 80th Independence Day celebrations, organized a special PCR van and motorcycle rally under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. The rally was to promote the spirit of patriotism and encourage citizens to participate in the Independence Day celebrations by displaying the national flag.
The rally featured Delhi Police personnel riding in PCR vans and motorcycles carrying the national flag as they made their way through some of the top attractions of the capital city. Kartavya Path and India Gate were the vehicles in the rally, and the city was full of patriotism on August 15.
The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign has become the centrepiece of Independence Day celebrations in recent years, and citizens are encouraged to hoist or display the Tricolour at their homes and workplaces. Government departments, security forces, public institutions and citizens throughout the country carry out all the activities under the programme.
The Delhi Police rally also highlighted the role of the force in public outreach in events of national importance. PCR vehicles and motorcycles are closely associated with Delhi Police’s emergency response and patrolling, and their participation in a patriotic rally provided a distinctive visual display ahead of Independence Day.

Kartavya Path, one of Delhi’s most prominent ceremonial routes, has long been a focal point for national occasions. India Gate, also one of the most emblematic national landmarks, is also a popular local meeting place. The Tricolour-bearing police vehicles around these locations underlined the significance.
The 80th Independence Day celebrations will ensure heavy activity in the capital, and security measures and traffic management are an important part of the preparations. Delhi Police personnel are stationed at key points to allow vehicles to cross and public safety to be maintained during the celebrations.
