The threat was sent through a communication that immediately activated security mechanisms, officials said. Since the Red Fort is a historic site and the number of visitors is high every day, the threat was taken seriously and there was an immediate search operation.

That’s because there is no chance in which you can get close to the Red Fort, one of the most internationally recognized monuments of India, and one of the most guarded places in the country.

Delhi Police quickly secured the area and restricted access to parts of the monument. Visitors were directed to safe places and security personnel conducted systematic inspections on the site.

Bomb disposal experts, accompanied by sniffer dogs, examined fort premises, parking areas, entry and exit gates, visitor facilities, and public spaces. Officers also looked for suspicious objects and unattended baggage as part of the standard procedure in response to bomb threats.

The traffic movement around parts of the Red Fort was temporarily controlled to facilitate emergency operations and for security vehicles to be able to move through the area for the duration of the emergency. Drivers were advised to keep calm, move through the area by traffic officials, and get to the right place when possible,” they said.

Officials said no explosive device had been found during the initial search. But security agencies maintained the operation until all parts of the monument were thoroughly investigated. Obviously, such threats are treated as genuine until a final investigation indicates otherwise.

The source of the bomb threat is also under investigation. Cyber experts and intelligence agencies are working with Delhi Police to trace the origin of the communication. Call records, electronic communications, and other technical evidence are being examined to find those responsible.

Police also said fake bomb threats are a criminal offense under Indian law and can lead to serious legal proceedings. In recent years, there have been hoax bomb threats on educational institutions, airports, government buildings, and other public places across India, requiring significant deployment of security resources.

Even in the event of a false alarm, security experts say they are forced to react swiftly and comprehensively. The safety of the people and staff working at this site and the residents nearby is the top priority.

The whole thing also underscored the importance of public cooperation in emergency operations, officials said. The public should remain calm, don’t spread unverified information on social media, and only consult official updates from law enforcement agencies.

The Red Fort is one of India’s best-known heritage monuments and draws domestic and international tourists day in and day out. Security conditions at this site are constantly reviewed and reinforced in the time before important national events.

After the search was finished, the authorities said normal operations would resume when security forces verified the premises were safe. Police will now pursue the individual or group behind the threat and will have to determine if it was a hoax or part of a bigger security problem.

It is a reminder of the high sense of responsibility that India’s security forces have for maintaining the country’s critical public infrastructure and heritage structures. Police and emergency services were quickly able to respond so the risk of exposure was minimized and public confidence was upheld.
