The ambitious project is expected to be one of the city’s most important transport projects which will benefit thousands of daily commuters and help with the region’s rapid urban development.

The new double-decker flyover is planned to maximize the road space with multiple modes of traffic.

The modern engineering solution will provide a more efficient trip time, eliminate bottlenecks and connect the main roads to commercial hubs in Greater Noida.

The project is being fast-tracked as part of a general plan to modernize transport throughout the National Capital Region (NCR). In the context of explosive population growth in Greater Noida, residential, commercial, and industrial expansion has brought traffic to a higher level over the past few years. The new flyover will solve this issue and will reduce the traffic congestion on existing roads.

Aside from easing congestion in the area, the project will also provide better connectivity to educational institutions, business districts, industrial areas and residential townships. Better road infrastructure will also boost investment and economic growth in the region.

Urban planners believe the double-decker flyovers are a good solution in dense urban areas with limited land available. Vertical flyovers increase road capacity with vertical space and do not require extensive land acquisition to accommodate them.

Similar projects in other metropolitan cities have shown improvement in traffic management and commuter convenience.

The infrastructure upgrade will also complement the ongoing development projects in Greater Noida: metro expansion, expressway upgrades, smart city projects and new residential development. Government officials intend to develop an integrated transportation system for sustainable urban growth and reduced travel delays.

As a result, residents and commuters are happy with the move and hope that it will improve daily travel. Once the flyover is operational, faster travel, lower fuel consumption and lower vehicle emissions will be the long-term impacts.

The project would also drive employment opportunities in the construction phase and help local businesses to thrive through greater accessibility and more opportunities for job creation. Better connectivity is also what makes property prices rise and new commercial investments and infrastructure development an important component of regional economic growth.

The details of the project and construction milestones will be revealed by the relevant authorities but the decision to speed up the project is indicative of the government's desire to improve urban mobility in one of the fastest-growing cities in Uttar Pradesh.

As Greater Noida is developing into a major residential and industrial centre, infrastructure projects such as the double-decker flyover will play a central role in meeting future transportation needs.

If built as planned, the project will be a landmark addition to the city's road network, which will provide a safer, faster and more efficient mobility for residents and visitors.
