A routine traffic inspection at the Sector P3 roundabout turned into a life-threatening ordeal for a traffic constable on Wednesday. With traffic constable Gurmeet Chaudhary clinging to the bonnet of a speeding red car as the driver attempted to escape, the incident, at around 2:30 PM occurred.
The Incident: 500 Metres of Terror
Police officials said Constable Chaudhary was regulating traffic to ease congestion at the busy intersection when he signaled a red Hyundai car registered in Uttar Pradesh to stop.
- Failure to stop: The driver reportedly sped toward the officer rather than stopping.
- The Outcome: In order to escape being crushed, Chaudhary was made to hop on to the bonnet of the car.
- The Drag: The driver did not slow down but continued his fast driving for 400 to 500 metres with the constable clinging to the front of the car. It ended only after he left the vehicle and moved out on foot. Happily, Gurmeet Chaudhary is not injured and is reported as stable.
