Heavy rainfall hit the Valsad district in Gujarat and led to waterlogging of many areas that impacted people and disrupted daily life. The heavy rain has had a big impact on daily life, with slow commuting and businesses in the wake of floodwater damage and delays in commuters being affected by flooding. Water has also accumulated in the low-lying areas because of heavy rainfall; congestion and a lack of parking and access to residential areas were also noted.
The IMD (India Meteorological Department) has predicted active monsoon conditions in parts of Gujarat and local agencies are monitoring the situation. Civic teams are clearing blocked drains and removing water from the roads, and emergency services are running properly.
