Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan Offers Prayers at Kollur Mookambika Temple During First Visit as CM

Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan visited the renowned Kollur Mookambika Temple in Karnataka’s Udupi district on Saturday and offered prayers to Goddess Mookambika during an early morning visit.

The Chief Minister arrived at the temple under Z-plus security, with elaborate security arrangements put in place by the district police to make sure a smooth and safe visit. There was a heavy police presence outside and around the temple as devotees continued to visit the shrine.

Satheesan took part in special rituals and pujas for Goddess Mookambika during the visit. He sought the blessings of the presiding deity and spent time in prayer before meeting temple officials.

This is his first visit to the Kollur Mookambika Temple since he became Chief Minister of Kerala. Satheesan is a very dedicated follower of Goddess Mookambika and has been to the temple several times in the past.

Following the religious ceremonies, the temple administration honoured the Chief Minister with traditional temple honours as a sign of respect. The officials welcomed him and wished him well during the felicitation ceremony.

The visit was watched by many of the devotees and visitors in the temple, and many came together to observe the Chief Minister's arrival. Despite the increased security measures, temple authorities kept on making sure daily darshan for the devotees continued without any inconvenience.

After visiting Kollur, Satheesan left for Mangaluru and will continue his journey to Bengaluru.

The Kollur Mookambika Temple is one of South India’s most renowned Hindu pilgrimage centres, and every year lakhs of devotees from Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and other parts of the country come to this temple seeking the help of Goddess Mookambika for wisdom, education, prosperity, and spiritual welfare.

Satheesan’s visit once again illustrates the long-standing spiritual bond many leaders and devotees of Kerala have with the historic shrine.
