This horrified the locals and they sounded on alert after a traumatic emotional harassment incident when the residents experienced breach of trust and psychological intimidation after threats to take private photographs multiple times. The woman is thought to be Rajini from Chatrakodihalli village, Kolar.

Police documents and initial investigation report that Rajini took action after she observed a man named Srikanth threatening and pressuring her. The accused was reportedly familiar with the woman as a result of similar circumstances, and officials said the couple had had a suspected close romance since then.

This reading implies that the fact that Srikanth and the victim became acquainted due to the common intimacy, the knowledge of each other, facilitated the victim’s payment of Srikanth in cash, jewellery and money. Rajini had seemingly been giving the accused over ₹10 lakh in all that time that she claimed to have given him in those months, some including jewellery.

But what began as a request for some treasures and her money became by far about ‘threat and blackmail’ at the end. The cops also charged that Srikanth regularly threatened to post pictures of the woman, saying that unless he were compensated instantly, he would leak her private images.

Rajini has been traumatised by these continuous threats, police said. The woman, relatives and residents in the areas reported, had been facing abusive psychological pressure in the last days. Her psychological problems such as long-term harassment, which was perceived as humiliation by the police also contributed to her depression and despair, which eventually led her to a suicide attack.

The accident had deeply shocked members of the community, who said they were calling for the legal option to bring the attacker to trial. The reports of emotional blackmail, perceived financial blackmail and blackmailing of private images and digital material were increasing for local residents.

Police Officer: Kolar Rural Police Station − This was the police officer who initiated the investigation regarding the registered case. Experts are also collecting evidence and scrutinising statements about money and communications documentation. And police officers also have to search for patterns of the accused using social media sites and mobile devices or messaging apps to threaten victims or request sensitive material related to the case.

The risk of personal content abuse and emotional blackmail would continue to exist, and so yet another narrative once again is being re-told in this instance. Legals and mental health workers often argue that threatened images, videos and other personal data can do great psychological harm to victims.

During the age of mobiles and social media and the rapid growth in their usage, despite this, many crimes and harassment have also taken place on the Internet, including an online threat to post personal images, sharing with the offender’s personal images. Telling others about that risk in real time to police or even to cybercrime officials is important, they say, not because they want to feel lonelier or to be alone for months or years, they say, but because it matters more.

And emotional trauma may require a plan for how to reduce long-term effects. They have to work out who’s the right person to get some person who understands what kind of bullying has been going on for how many years, and whether they are hurting a person’s self-esteem, their social life or their mental health.”

What they are all angrier about is how much of their dignity and honour is being stripped from them in so many cases, when it’s public or just because family members have begun to influence them to the point where that’s not going to help. The police will not shy away from questioning the accused, and whatever evidence they have will be interrogated until the case goes to trial, they said.

They request that they call forth their citizens to contact the police in good time for assistance in instances when they are harassed, blackmailed or threatened or have ways to access private information or photos. In Rajini, of course, her family is heartbroken; this sad story is just another example of how damaging damage does not have to be reversible, but rather it is irreversibly damaged to pain from emotional harassment and betrayal.
