KR Puram Triple Murder: Police Reveal Six-Month Premeditated Plot, Chilling Plan to Dispose of Bodies Shocks Investigators

The investigation into the triple murder in Bengaluru’s KR Puram has unearthed worrying new facts, and police say that it was not a sudden act of violence but an elaborate conspiracy that had been in the making for nearly six months.

The accused, Shwetha and her partner Kenneth, were said to have conspired to murder Shwetha's parents and sister after months of planning to kill them. And the police say that the two had discussed the murders well in advance and had also created a plan to transport the bodies and destroy evidence to avoid detection.

Police Allege Six-Month Conspiracy

The incident took place at an apartment in Sai Green Homes, Dominic Layout, KR Puram. Kenneth is said to have revealed details of the alleged plan to investigators during interrogation.

Police claim Shwetha had initially planned to murder her family members and had communicated the idea with Kenneth. The two gradually formed a plan, deciding how the crime would be carried out and how evidence would be concealed after it had been done.

According to the police, the intention was to transport the victims’ bodies from the apartment to another flat connected to Kenneth in Doddanekkundi without drawing suspicion.

Trolley Bags Purchased in Advance

Investigators say that the accused had bought large trolley bags before the crime and had done so as part of their preparation.

The plan, police said, was to place the bodies in the bags after the murders and move them discreetly through the apartment lift at night when resident movement was sparse. The bags were intended to be loaded into a car and taken to the second location.

But the plan failed after one of the victims, who was in the building, allegedly resisted the attack and informed neighbours. Residents intervened to prevent the accused from carrying out the alleged body disposal plan, investigators said.

Plan to Destroy Evidence

One of the most startling things investigators have said about the alleged plan is that the evidence would be destroyed.

According to police sources, Kenneth admitted that the bodies were to be taken to the Doddanekkundi apartment, where they would be burned in an attempt to obliterate forensic evidence.

The house’s preparation had already begun at the flat, including storage of firewood and other materials, they say. Police would also investigate the claim that exhaust fans had been installed in order to disperse smoke quickly and to make sure neighbours wouldn’t see suspicious activities.

Such evidence will continue to be verified by forensic examinations and other evidence collected during the investigation, they added.

Investigation Continues

Police are gathering digital evidence, forensic reports, and witness statements to establish the sequence of events and determine the role of each accused, said Llenegaran, of the Crown Prosecution Division.

The investigation will also be on communication records, financial transactions, and movements of the accused in the months leading up to the incident.

These pieces of evidence will help strengthen the prosecution's case when the matter goes to trial, officials said.

Judicial Proceedings

Shwetha's police custody has now ended, after which she has been remanded to judicial custody and lodged at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison as directed by the court.

Kenneth's police custody is also expected to conclude soon. After further interrogation, attorneys are likely to seek appropriate judicial orders based on the progress of the case, he said.

Case Remains Under Investigation

The KR Puram triple murder has sent shockwaves across Bengaluru because of the allegations and the level of planning involved. But the police investigation is still in progress, and the allegations disclosed by the police are yet to be tested in court.

The final determination of guilt or innocence will be made by the judicial process after all evidence and legal proceedings are finalized. And investigators continue to investigate all aspects of the case and have made progress in getting a complete chargesheet filed.
