Two tragic road accidents in Karnataka have claimed four people, including a four-year-old girl, as road safety issues in Karnataka’s road network continue to grow in the state. The first accident happened in Belagavi district in the Gokak taluk, where a collision between a KSRTC bus and a motorcycle killed three people.
Meanwhile, another young man died in a multi-vehicle accident in Tumakuru district along with two others in a collision involving a bus, a Bolero SUV, and a two-wheeler.
The fatal accident near Gokak took place in Konnur town when a KSRTC bus collided with a motorcycle carrying three people, the local police said. The victims were 29-year-old Saif Mulla, his 4-year-old daughter Sija Saif Mulla, and his friend Imtiyaz Badgaon, 35. All three died instantly due to the severity of the collision, according to the police.
According to initial information, the government bus was travelling from Hidkal to Gokak, and Saif Mulla, his daughter, and Imtiyaz were on a motorcycle from Gokak Falls to Konnur. The accident happened near the Karemma Temple area of Konnur town. The impact of the collision was so severe that the victims suffered critical injuries and heavy blood loss and died at the scene immediately.
The local people rushed to help the victims after the crash and informed the authorities. But even with immediate attention, the victims could not be saved. The death of the young child has greatly disturbed residents, and the community is grieving.
According to the report, the bus driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene shortly after the accident. Police from Gokak Rural Police Station arrived at the scene, performed an initial investigation, and transported the bodies to the post-mortem centre. A case has been registered at Gokak Rural Police Station, and investigations are already in progress to determine what happened in the collision.
In a separate road accident in Karnataka's Tumakuru district, a 23-year-old man was killed in a major accident involving multiple vehicles near Melkunte Gate in Sira taluk. The deceased was Imran, a resident of Kote locality in Sira town.
According to police sources, the accident involved a bus, a Bolero utility vehicle, and a motorcycle. The impact of the collision was so strong that Imran, who was travelling on the two-wheeler, died on the spot. Two other people involved in the accident were Nawaz and Allabaksh.
Emergency responders and locals rushed the victims to a hospital where they are being treated, the newspaper reported. Their condition is said to be serious but stable.
Police from the Pattanayakanahalli Police Station have registered a case and started collecting evidence from the accident site. Eyewitness accounts and vehicle damage are expected to be reviewed to determine the exact cause of the crash.
The tragedies in these two cases are a grim reminder of the dangers on Karnataka's roads.
