A quick response by a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel prevented a potentially serious fire incident at the Madras High Court premises in Chennai on 28 September 2026. A scooter parked close to a security screening point suddenly caught fire, but the flames were brought under control before they could spread to nearby vehicles or structures.
According to UNI, the incident happened on Monday at the Sierra-4 screening point, opposite Indian Bank, at Madras High Court premises. CISF personnel who were on duty and conducting security checks noticed the flames immediately.
CISF Personnel Acts Quickly
CISF personnel D. Manna, working at the screening point, saw the scooter fire and reacted immediately. He used a fire extinguisher at the location to combat the flames.
The quick action prevented the fire from becoming a bigger incident. It was extinguished before it spread to other vehicles parked in the vicinity or affected structures in the court premises.
UNI reported that the incident was handled within minutes according to a CISF statement.
No Injuries Reported
There were no reported injuries. The court functioning was also unaffected and normal activity resumed at the screening point soon after the fire was extinguished.
The quick response was especially important in the case of the scooter in an area where other vehicles and buildings were situated. If the firefighters were too slow to tackle the flames, the fire would have spread.
However, the immediate availability and use of a fire extinguisher helped contain the situation at an early stage.
