If there were no delivery workers, people wouldn’t get meals at home. They make life better every day for thousands of families. It may not be a doctor or engineer, but his job has dignity.
The girl’s mocking words serve as a common example of the social problem. Success often is associated with a lucrative paycheck, a large office, a fancy title. Success is not about position, they forget; rather, it reflects character, integrity, and resilience. It shows immaturity, and belittles someone for having to do his job. That’s an example that the person does not know about hard work. Rather than honor the boy’s smile while still working, she insulted him. This attitude is corrosive because it creates this attitude. It’s destructive, because it encourages disrespect and discourages people from honest work.
Every job adds some value to society. Farmers produce food, cleaners keep our environment clean, drivers help us move around and delivery workers deliver meals to our doors. If any of this work stopped, life would be hard. The boy in this story knew this reality. And he didn’t let the girl’s words break his spirit. He continued his work, demonstrating that dignity is built from within. His calmness was his strength.
That incident is not one story: it’s more than one boy and one girl. It is about all of us. We just have to learn to respect people in every profession.
