Mumbai is bracing for another spell of heavy monsoon rain on Thursday, August 13, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of heavy rainfall at isolated places across the city. Heavy spells could lead to waterlogging in low-lying and urban areas and could lead to road traffic and daily commuting problems, the weather office said.
The warning will be in effect for 24 hours starting on Thursday morning. Heavy rainfall is expected in Mumbai at isolated locations according to IMD forecast, and across North Konkan including Mumbai and the neighboring suburbs.

Raigad could experience heavier spells at a few points, and Palghar could have moderate rainfall. The wider Konkan and Goa region also remains under a heavy-rain warning for August 13.
The combination of persistent monsoon moisture and intense local showers can cause sudden changes to weather conditions. Residents in the most vulnerable places should keep track of official weather updates, particularly if rainfall becomes continuous.
Cloudy and Humid Conditions in Mumbai

Light to moderate rain is expected on August 15 and 16. Residents should not expect sudden heavy rainfall to disappear, and rain will gradually become less intense.
Monsoon conditions can change rapidly, and isolated intense spells might still occur even if the overall forecast indicates moderate or light rainfall.
