One of the most ancient spiritual centres in Tulu Nadu, Sri Gadiyadi Adimogerkal, Swami Koragajja and Parivara Daiva Daivasthana at Patladka near Kokkada in Kadaba taluk, has officially announced its Nemakola festival schedule for the upcoming months. The festival dates are from August to December 2026, and the temple authorities and trustees are looking forward to the participation of lakhs of devotees from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and other districts.
Daiva worship is one of the oldest and most unique spiritual traditions of Tulu Nadu and deeply rooted in the culture and faith of coastal Karnataka. Swami Koragajja, among the many gods worshipped, is always a god in the hearts of the people, and we feel that the divine spirit is there to protect and lift us from the hard times (injustice and suffering) in life.
The Patladka Daivasthana is a very powerful spiritual place where devotees come in line to perform the Nemakola (the celebration of Koragajja and Parivara Daivas) ritual.
Nemakola: A living tradition of Tulu Nadu.
Nemakola is not only a religious event, but it is also the manifestation of Tulu Nadu’s cultural identity. Traditional music, sacred chants, colourful costumes and symbolic performances from designated Daiva impersonators carry out the divine presence during the ceremony.
In the case of devotees, visiting a Nemakola is spiritually significant. Many go to the shrine to express gratitude to the gods for fulfilling their wishes, and to ask them to help with their prayers.
Temple Committee releases official schedule
The Patladka Daivasthana trustees and management committee have now announced the dates of Nemakola rituals to take place between August and December 2026. The schedule has been released so that devotees can plan their visits well in advance and participate in the sacred rituals.
The temple administration has urged devotees to cooperate with volunteers, keep discipline in the rituals, and follow guidelines by the temple administration for the festivals.
The committee is also arranging for crowd management, parking facilities, drinking water, and other basic facilities in the event of a big turnout at the Nemakola events.
Centre of Faith for Thousands.
Patladka Daivasthana has become a popular pilgrimage destination in Kadaba Taluk in the serene surroundings around Kokkada. Devotees are convinced that the sincere prayers before Swami Koragajja help to remove obstacles, settle disputes and bring peace and prosperity to families.
Apart from local devotees, people from Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Kerala and even overseas members of the Tulu community regularly visit the shrine during the festival season.
Cultureologists say the continuing popularity of Koragajja worship is testament to the deep-rooted spiritual traditions of Tulu Nadu and the oral history, the customs and the community that is rooted in it, as well as the importance of people in its indigenous spiritual practices that have been preserved in the community for generations.
With the Nemakola schedule officially announced, devotees are eagerly awaiting the divine rituals and looking forward to Swami Koragajja and Parivara Daivas’ protection in the festival season.
The temple committee will be able to provide detailed timings and other arrangements closer to each Nemakola event so pilgrims can participate comfortably in one of Tulu Nadu’s most sacred religious traditions.
