Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where people of the state are trying to deal with the threat of the rising water level of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers.
With the increasing water level of these two major rivers, the inundated settlements in the river banks are also flooded and people who live there are now on the verge of flooding. The rainfall has been so great for people living in the low-lying part of the state and families have been inundated in the flood waters.
The water level is increasing and with it safety and well-being of people are becoming worse. This is causing worry and distress to even high population.

Residents should take prompt action in preparation - as in storing important documents and belongings in safe places and following up with official warnings about flood risks. Children and the elderly are most vulnerable to flooding, making them more susceptible to the flood risk and may need more assistance for flood situations.
In such a situation, local authorities are responsible for monitoring river levels, identifying risk areas and making sure that good emergency response is in place.
