According to reports, a large number of RCB supporters took to the streets after the team’s second consecutive Indian Premier League title by defeating the Gujarat Titans in the final. While celebrations were initially peaceful in Kurnool, in some parts of Kurnool, there were some people who vandalised the streets.

An Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus was targeted during the celebrations, according to reports. There were windows of the vehicle damaged as miscreants pelted stones and vandalised public property while cheering for the team's victory.

There were large crowds on roads waving RCB flags, bursting firecrackers and raising slogans in support of the franchise, they said. But some of the crowd apparently became unruly and damaged the bus and other nearby properties, according to local media.

Police were on the way to the scene after receiving information about the disturbance. They were able to disperse the masses and prevent a dangerous escalation. No one was injured, and the damage to public property is being assessed,” the police said.

The incident comes just hours after RCB successfully defended their IPL crown. Led by Rajat Patidar, the Bengaluru-based franchise defeated the Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

RCB fans in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and a few other states went into celebration as well, but authorities have appealed to fans not to take things too far off course in celebration and to avoid any action that might jeopardise public safety and damage government property.

Police are looking at CCTV footage and trying to track the individuals involved in the vandalism. Appropriate action is probably to be taken against those responsible for damage to public assets.

Though there was no violence witnessed in Kurnool, the majority of fans celebrated peacefully, the Kurnool incident has raised the concern of excessive celebrations turning into law-and-order problems after major sports events.
