Reliance Foundation to Launch 410-Acre University at Dronagiri

Reliance Foundation has announced plans to create a campus for 410 acres of university at Dronagiri, Maharashtra as one of the biggest educational projects in India. The project aims to establish a world-class university with a top-tier education system and very high degree of research and innovation.

There will be seven schools, each dedicated to engineering and technology, business, arts, sciences and healthcare. This multi-disciplinary way will develop students’ skills for the rapidly evolving world economy.

One of the most significant parts of the campus will be its research park and innovation center, which will be a hub for students, faculty and industry leaders for entrepreneurship, innovation, and research to find answers to pressing social problems. Reliance Foundation will leverage its industry relationships to link the university to real-world uses.

The Dronagiri campus location is located close to Navi Mumbai and it is a good location for connecting and for being a very active educational and innovation corridor. The campus will be designed with sustainability at its core, incorporating green architecture, renewable energy systems, and eco-friendly infrastructure.

Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani said that the university will be based on the foundation’s mission to guide India’s youth through quality education. She said the university will not only be academic but will be holistic in nature with respect to creativity, leadership and social responsibility as well.

Industry experts are optimistic that the initiative could transform the higher education landscape in India by setting new markers in infrastructure, pedagogy and international partnership. This university will bring top faculty, researchers and students from across India and abroad with its size and scope; that’s the goal.
