A sombre incident unfolded on Monday evening at the Rohini West Metro Station on the Delhi Metro's Red Line, where a 37-year-old man died after allegedly jumping in front of an approaching train. The deceased has been identified by police as Hemant Negi, a resident of Rohini Sector 2 who worked for a private company in Ghaziabad.

The Delhi Police control room received a PCR call around 5:03 PM reporting that a passenger had jumped before a train near Gate No. 3 of the station.
- Action Taken: Police and emergency services swiftly responded. Before the police team could reach the platform, the injured individual had already been transported via ambulance to BSA Hospital.
- Confirmed Fatality: Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors in the casualty ward declared Negi dead.
- No Note Found: Officials confirmed that a preliminary investigation, including a search of the scene by crime and forensic teams, found no suicide note. The motive behind the suspected suicide remains unknown and is under investigation.
Initial inquiries suggest that Negi jumped onto the tracks in front of a train travelling on the Red Line from Rithala towards Kashmere Gate.
