Hujefa (2) was the only son of Banu Syed Umer and Jakiya Banu. The incident occurred on Thursday evening when the toddler was playing outside his home, unaware of the danger approaching.

The Tata Harrier EV was traveling at high speed from the Pur village side when it lost control and hit the child. The preliminary information is that it is reported. Hujefa suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot before any medical help could reach him.

Residents who witnessed the accident said the driver did not rush the critically injured child to a hospital and instead drove away from the scene. The hit-and-run has earned locals' anger, and the accused driver was accused of running away.

A tragedy is unimaginable for Hujefa's parents. The young boy was their only child; his sudden death has left the family devastated. Relatives and neighbours gathered at the family house to console the grieving parents as the village mourned the loss of the innocent child.

Soon after receiving information about the accident, officers from the Shira Police Station arrived and conducted a preliminary investigation. The child's body was shifted for post-mortem examination as part of the legal procedure.

Police have registered a hit-and-run case and started an investigation to find and trace the driver of the Tata Harrier EV involved in the accident. CCTV footage from nearby areas, questioning eyewitnesses, and vehicle-related evidence will be taken into account to locate the accused.

Experts have stressed over and over again that drivers should be extremely cautious in road safety zones, schools, and villages where children are usually in the vicinity of the roads. Speeding in such zones increases the risk of fatal accidents.

The incident has once again made the matter of responsible driving and the legal as well as moral duty of drivers to stop and assist accident victims very clear. Not only does it delay emergency medical care and cause fines, but it also has great legal implications under Indian law to leave the scene of an accident.

The grieving family and residents are desperate to have the accused driver arrested and punished as a result of the investigation as quickly as possible. Little Hujefa’s tragic death is just another painful reminder that a single reckless driving act can ruin the lives of a whole family and the future of a family.
