After a sensational nationwide and foreign theatrical run, Ranveer Singh's blockbuster spy thriller Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is finally preparing for its anticipated OTT release in India.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film became one of the biggest box office hits of 2026 and has retained a grip on headlines due to its hefty box office figures and unorthodox streaming strategy.
Based on the latest information released from recent reports, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge will begin streaming on JioHotstar in India from 5 June 2026 and has a grand digital debut on 4 June 2026 at 7 PM IST.
Fans are waiting for OTT to release the film online following their biggest-ever box-office showing. The film has recently exceeded ₹1,700 crore worldwide and is considered one of the Indian movies of record grossing in a year.
A curious aside is that with both JioHotstar and Netflix being involved, the film’s digital release has also left viewers puzzled. The streaming rights for Indian streaming are at JioHotstar. The international version of the movie has already been released overseas by Netflix with the title "Raw & Undekha".
On top of this, Netflix India just launched Dhurandhar Raw & Undekha, a long, uncensored extension of the epic, which is tied to the series. When first released, they had everyone confused this release with the Indian OTT version of Dhurandhar 2, but eventually it was clarified in reports that JioHotstar's June release is indeed Dhurandhar: The Revenge's official Indian streaming debut.
The “Raw & Undekha” cut has been a bone of contention for fans who claim to include more scenes, uncensored dialogues and extra footage, none of which we get to watch at Indian cinemas. And this interpretation, released by Netflix, hit international markets from May 14 through 15.
Apart from Ranveer Singh’s dazzling performance, the film received acclaim for its huge action scenes, espionage-style stories, emotional richness and political thriller elements. The sequel took the world built around the Dhurandhar movie to a whole new level, and it exploded on media channels, quickly turning into a mainstream pop culture sensation.
The movie, however, does not escape controversy. The recent Delhi High Court cases also concern some of them in the sense that some scenes are perceived to be used sensitively to depict intelligence operations. The court directed authorities to investigate the worries, though no ban was put on the movie's air broadcast.
Despite the controversies, viewers anticipate the OTT release to an extremely high level. Fans who didn’t get the theatre will shortly see action-packed TV drama from their homes. Given its enormous box office numbers, foreign streaming chatter and extended “Raw & Undekha” make for perhaps the biggest OTT premieres of the year with Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge in India.
