Netflix has now claimed its rights to releasing Suriya 46, that year's hit film with Tamil star Suriya. Directed by Venky Atluri, known for his work in Lucky Baskhar, it’s not just a sports drama, it’s a family movie which everyone can enjoy and has already made waves, so you can imagine a highly awaited 2026 release.
First Look Reveal. Along with the announcement the country’s first-look poster saw something else carrying the message: “He may be a champion on field, but he is still a learner at home .” This clever line hints at a story of success in sports as well as difficult family structure.
Cast and Crew. The female lead opposite Suriya in Suriya 46 is Mamitha Baiju, while two veteran actors, Raveena Tandon and Radhika Sarathkumar, have played the key roles as well. The music will be written by GV Prakash Kumar who is just about ready to bring emotive depth and vitality to the storytelling film. With such an influential cast of musicians and creative ensemble and crew, this movie could only serve up good stuff but also star power.
Production Journey. The movie itself, made by Sithara Entertainments and Srikara Studios, saw the end of production shooting in December 2025 with major dates in Hyderabad and other big cities throughout Europe. The crew for the film has hammered home the film’s appeal on an international scale, marrying local culture to a style as international as it is cinematic. This is a delicate equilibrium that should appeal not only to the Indians but also across the borders.
Release Plans. By the summer of 2026, Suriya 46 will be available for streaming on Netflix in multiple languages. At Netflix and similar services, it has pan‑India, global reach and its audiences are bound to go out into public on every kind of scale.
