The resurgence of the globally admired espionage hit is finally finished for India's fans. Almost 10 years after the original season transformed high-stakes television, Tom Hiddleston stages his Golden Globe-winning turn as Jonathan Pine again in the new season of The Night Manager. Based on the classic figures of the spy jockeying John le Carré, this latest installment of the British spy thriller made its official digital debut in India on January 11, 2026.
The series has transitioned its streaming home in an important update for viewers in the Indian subcontinent. The first season and its successful 2023 Indian adaptation (starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Anil Kapoor) were linked to Disney+ Hotstar, but the original British TV series’ second season now streams exclusively via Amazon Prime Video.
In celebrations for the launch, the platform went for a "binge-start" approach by releasing the first three episodes at the same hour, 1:30 PM IST, on the premiere day, enabling fans to immediately enter the murky world of international intelligence. Seasons 2’s story unfolds roughly nine years after the explosive finale in Cairo, where Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie) was carted off by his vengeful Syrian purchasers.
Jonathan Pine is no longer the active field agent fans remember, but has been “put on ice” by MI6, currently in disguise as Alex Goodwin. He operates a surveillance unit that is called “The Night Owls,” overseeing CCTV streams from some of the city’s most exclusive luxury hotels. His efforts at a sheltered, bureaucratic existence are shattered as a mercenary from Roper’s previous life returns and Pine is thrust back into a world of deceit and peril.
This season turns the action to a global canvas, taking place in the rich but dangerous environments and scenery of Colombia, as opposed to the Mediterranean ones of the first season. Pine’s new assignment is to disrupt a sophisticated trafficking network that includes the ruthless businessman Teddy Dos Santos (Golden Globe nominee Diego Calva). And on the way, he meets Roxana Bolaños (Camila Morrone), an impertinent yet reluctant ally who turns into his main connection to the syndicate’s workings. And after the original three-episode premiere, the series has been following a weekly broadcast plan.
These episodes drop episodically, every Monday morning (IST) in tension over the month of January. The six-episode season is set to end with a finale on February 1, 2026. With Hiddleston, it boasts the return of Oscar-winning Olivia Colman as Angela Burr, who remains the indomitable presence at higher ranks in the intelligence world. Season three has already been approved, and The Night Manager has shifted from being a stand-alone miniseries to what is currently a powerhouse global franchise.
