Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s historic IPL 2026 victory inspired huge celebrations across the cricketing world, as Sachin Tendulkar took to social media to send out congratulatory messages after RCB defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the final.
The victory at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad saw Royal Challengers Bengaluru successfully defend their IPL crown and become only the third franchise in tournament history to win consecutive titles, joining the elite ranks of Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
Sachin Tendulkar also commented on Bengaluru's performance on social media after the match and said the achievement was well deserved.
Congratulations to @RCBTweets on winning consecutive @IPL titles. One of the challenges in sport is that success changes the questions you have to answer. After winning once, the task is no longer proving you can do it, but proving you can sustain it. RCB met that challenge…

"A well-deserved achievement. Congratulations to RCB on winning back-to-back IPL titles. The team showed consistency, character and quality throughout the season," Tendulkar reportedly said to the champions.
Virat Kohli Delivers on the Biggest Stage
RCB’s successful title defence was once again inspired by veteran batsman Virat Kohli, who played a match-winning innings during the chase of 156.
Kohli anchored the innings brilliantly after RCB got off to a flying start. His composed half-century ensured Bengaluru remained in control despite a brief middle-order wobble caused by Rashid Khan's double strike.
The former India captain showed yet again why he is still one of the greatest Indian cricket performers so far and took his team home with aggression and composure.
Dominant Campaign Ends in Glory
RCB came into the final as defending champions and one of the most consistent teams of the season. Their bowlers laid the groundwork for victory by restricting the Gujarat Titans to 155/8 despite a fighting unbeaten half-century from Washington Sundar.
Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar removed the dangerous opening pair of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan early, while Rasikh Salam Dar's three-wicket haul prevented Gujarat from building momentum.
RCB had to chase down the target with the bat and secured the title with five wickets in hand.
Cricket Fraternity Celebrates RCB's Success
Aside from Sachin Tendulkar, several former cricketers, experts, and fans praised Bengaluru for this great achievement. Many praised the team’s balance, leadership, and ability to perform under pressure throughout the tournament.
Virat Kohli, the face of the franchise for almost two decades, was so proud that his victory was a crowning moment in his career. Fans across social media have also sung his praises in the match when he helped RCB to win the title.
A Historic Place in IPL History
Royal Challengers Bengaluru have become one of the most successful IPL teams in league history after winning two straight championships. So, it is a new era for the Bengaluru-based team, which hadn't won its first IPL title until then.
Now with back-to-back trophies in their cabinet, RCB have established themselves as the benchmark of consistency and excellence in the league. Sachin Tendulkar’s tribute to the champions perfectly summed up the feeling of the moment: “Such a well-deserved achievement for the champions."
