India and West Indies collide in the second ODI of their three-match series on September 30, 2026, at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The match starts at 2:00 PM IST. India is 1-0 up after winning the opening match.
The second ODI will see India try to take the series to the close and West Indies try to level the match and take it to a deciding third match.
India Started With Strong Momentum.
India made a strong start to the series in Thiruvananthapuram. They successfully chased West Indies' 295/7, reaching 300/2 in 41.4 overs with eight wickets to spare.
Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill both scored centuries in the batting. Kohli’s return to ODI cricket has been a big talking point and Gill has maintained his place as captain of India.
India's bowling also received an important boost from Kuldeep Yadav, who took four wickets in the opening match. His ability to control the middle overs would also be important again in Guwahati.
How will West Indies produce a turnaround?
West Indies have much to improve after the first ODI. Their batting unit posted a competitive 295, but India’s chase exposed weaknesses in the bowling attack.
Shai Hope, along with Keacy Carty, Roston Chase, and Alzarri Joseph, will have a big role to play in this game as West Indies will need to keep the series alive.
The visitors will need a better bowling performance, especially against India's experienced top order.

India Eye Series Victory
With a 1-0 lead in the series, India would need a complete performance to seal the ODI series. The West Indies will now have to respond and stop India from taking the lead and prevent India from being a complete team to win the series.
With Kohli and Gill coming off centuries and Kuldeep making an impact with the ball, the Guwahati ODI is another important test for both teams as we move toward the 2027 ODI World Cup.
