Royal Challengers Bengaluru finished another great season with a five-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RCB won their third IPL final and are one of the few teams to win two league titles in a row.
RCB’s bowlers played a crucial role in the title fight. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, and Rasikh Salam Dar struck at regular intervals to derail the Gujarat Titans’ batting line-up. The home side was relying on Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler, but the three never really contributed to the game, and Gujarat was 73/4.
Washington Sundar fought a lone battle with a brilliant unbeaten 50 off 37 balls, helping Gujarat reach 155/8 in their 20 overs. The Titans got the total to defend, but it was never enough against a confident RCB batting line.
Venkatesh Iyer provided the perfect start with a blistering 32 off 16 deliveries. Virat Kohli then took his turn in the chase and scored a quick half-century and took Bengaluru home with 12 balls left. With this innings, he won the Player of the Final, and RCB once again won the IPL title.
